This month is all about motivation around Salt Lake Running Company. In celebration of this, I thought I’d write a list of absurd things that very well might motivate you to run:
1. A lion behind you
2. A bear behind you
3. A lion riding a bear behind you
4. An on-coming train
5. An on-coming train driven by a lion riding a bear
6. You have the only antidote to a mysterious virus that needs to get to the World Health Organization 3 miles away in 20 minutes!
7. You have the only antidote to a mysterious virus that needs to get to the World 3 miles away in 20 minutes and you’re being chased by an on-coming train driven by a lion riding a bear!
8. Your wedding day’s coming up and your dress is too small
9. Your wedding day’s coming up and you have the only antidote to a mysterious virus that needs to get to the World Health Organization 3 miles away in 20 minutes and you’re being chased by an on-coming train driven by a lion riding a bear!
10. You’re in a race against Usain Bolt who is nursing a knee injury
11. You’re in a race against Usain Bolt who is nursing a knee injury AND distracted by a colorful bird.
12. The ghost of PreFontaine has cursed you with running 40 miles a week
13. The ghost of PreFontaine has cursed you with running 40 miles a week against a lion riding a bear
14. The lion fell off the bear, skinning his knee. Now he’s angry and wants to eat you.
15. The bear is also angry because the lion stepped on his toe during the fall. Now he’s angry at the lion (who’s chasing you) which makes the lion run even faster.
16. You are a lion. You’ve been led into a deep gorge by your evil uncle Scar. A deep rumbling is heard as thousands of wilder beasts chase you down. Now you must run FAST!
17. A lion holding a laser gun is riding a bear and chasing you.
Basically, I imagine that I would run very fast if either a bear or a lion were chasing me and I imagine everybody else would too. Stay motivated everybody!!!!!
