Staying healthy and fit is such a vital part of living a good life. But sometimes it is hard to find the motivation necessary to stay active.
This is where a coach can really come in handy.
I started my running journey soon after I finished my final season of soccer during my senior year of high school. Growing up as member of a team sport really shaped who I am as an athlete. But I wasn’t very good at being accountable to myself.
I learned that if I didn’t have a coach or exercise group I wouldn’t get as much exercise as I would like. I have since joined the Lisa Menninger running group in order to keep myself going. And I haven’t regretted a single minute or mile of it.
Here are just a few reasons why having a coach has made my running experience a good one:
- I know that I am accountable for going. This makes me a little bit more motivated.
- My runs are all planned out for me. I get an easy run, a speed work run, and a long run in every week. My coach individualizes each team members training plan to fit their goals.
- My coach sets me up with running buddies. I love this because some of them push me and having a running buddy always makes a run go by faster. It is also nice to know that there are other people out there with me. I never feel scared when I’m out running with the group.
- My coach has become like my second mom. She pushes me to be the best runner that I can be, but she also supports me and helps me work though all my running problems (It is very fitting that both my coach and my mom are named Lisa!).
Running has completely changed me.
I am in better shape than I have ever been. It has changed my physique for the better. It has given me a chance to meet lots of new people and become part of our running community.
I am grateful for all of these wonderful changes and I owe them all to me lovely and inspiring coach, Lisa Menninger.Don’t miss the start of Lisa’s second training session, and kick start your summer training! Click here for details.
