Range 2 River Relay
June 6, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
An active transportation and outdoor recreation team relay to explore the conditions of the Salt Lake Valley’s waterways, from pristine headwaters to buried creeks and channelized canal to meandering river.
For those looking to build friendships and have family-friendly fun! Teams consist of a biker, boater, and runner. The first participant bikes the path of City Creek, continuing as the creek gets buried underground. This 3.6-mile leg starts in City Creek Canyon and ends at the creek’s confluence with the Jordan River, the historic Utah State Fairpark. The second teammate boats the Jordan River northward, following the river as it turns from a channelized canal to a meandering, healthy river. This 3.3-mile leg starts at the Utah State Fairpark and ends at 1800 North. The scenic Jordan River Trail is utilized for the final stretch of the race. This 3.4-mile leg starts at 1800 North and finishes back at the Utah State Fairpark.
For those looking to test their active transportation and outdoor recreation abilities! New for this year, individuals are invited to participate in the outlined course as a triathlon.
The Range 2 River Relay is light on competition and heavy on fun!
*Attention: Competitors are required to bring their own equipment, including a bicycle, bicycle helmet, non-motorized watercraft, paddle(s), and personal floatation device.
