May 11, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
About this Event
Lifting Lives’ 5th annual “Run For Africa” is more than just a run! You can bring your whole family to run/walk the 5k, buy Mother’s Day gifts, enjoy the bake sale, silent auction and even a petting zoo!
The 5K course begins with a quick downhill start and follows the beautiful, shaded, tree-lined Lagoon Trail. It takes you past the buffalo and elk at Lagoon and through the area surrounding the Farmington Pond. Enjoy the scenery and peace of running off the streets and away from traffic!
Lifting Lives maintains a family home for orphans in Bukura, Kenya, where we provide education, food and the highest quality of care possible. All funds raised from the 5k and festival will help to lift the lives of these special orphans. To learn more visit: https://www.liftinglivesinkenya.org/
9:30 am: Registration/check-In begins. Each registered participant can enter a drawing for two 1- Day Disneyland Park Hopper Passes!
10:00 am: Race begins
9:30 am – 12:00 pm : Enjoy the festival, including a bake sale, shopping for Mother’s Day gifts and stop by the petting zoo!
***New this year…team tickets! Join a group, or form your own group of 10 runners and for just $20 each, less than an entry for most 5K races, your team would pay for a Gardner Granny orphan to go to school for six months! Your $20 entry fee includes your race ticket plus a $10 donation. 100% of your $20 would go to the education costs of the child you run for. Your group of 10 can change the life of a Gardner Granny orphan by paying for them to attend school for six months!*****
Directions: From Main Street in Farmington, turn East on 600 North, left on 100 East and then left onto the Farmington Pond road. Look for the “runner drop off” signs. Drivers will drop off runners and then follow signs to off site parking, where they will then be shuttled to the starting line.
