Flax Seed Oil and Fish Oil

Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s)

Supplement function:

  • Required by every cell, tissue, gland and organ in the body.
  • Provides material to make prostaglandinds which are hormone like substances that act as chemical messengers and regulators of various body processes.
  • Aid in the transmission of nerve impulses and are needed for the normal development and functioning of the brain.
  • Plays a large role in reducing inflammation from normal athletic activity and well as “silent” inflammation that causes arthritis, brain degeneration, cardiovascular disease, cancers and other diseases.
  • Lowers cholesterol and triglyceride levels
  • Improves insulin sensitivity and lowers blood sugar.
  • Helps improve hair and skin.
  • Improves mineral metabolism
  • Improves endurance and shortens recovery times.
  • The body can not make EFAs, so you must get them from your food.

Recommended Flax oil usage:

  • Use flaxseed oil or oil blend everyday because your body can’t make EFA’s
  • Take 1 tablespoon per 50 pounds of bodyweight on a daily basis and double that if you experience health problems like arthritis, injury, cancer and etc.
  • Split dose in order to feed it into your body more than once a day.
  • Use flaxseed in oil form sold in dark bottles. Keep stored in fridge.
  • Flaxseeds are great to add to foods, but you would have to eat too many in to get enough EFAs for the day.

Recommended Fish oil usage:

  • Use fish oil in addition to flax oil in order to provide the body with preformed EFAs. As people age, they don’t have as much of the enzyme needed to convert all of the flax oil into EFAs used by the body.
  • Take enough capsules to get roughly 800 to 1,000 mg of EPA and 400 to 500 mg of DHA. Split the dose. Take half in the morning and half in the evening.
